I think the Red Boss is correct, yes it was worth seeing once, but the track is crap and F1 should be racing on decent width tracks where passing is possible, the follow syndrome strikes again............

F1 » Bernie: Ferrari clowns in Singapore circus

F1 ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone responds to Luca di Montezemolo's Singapore GP criticism - by quipping: "If the Ferrari president is right about [the race] being a circus, we have to be grateful to him for providing the clowns..."

Although it pains me to say it Bernie is right , it was the pit system that lost Ferrari the race

However & this pains me even more I also agree with Luca di Montezemolo
Both the circuits at Valencia & Singapore are a joke, probably the worst 2 on the present calendar

I do like the idea of an odd night race under floodlights, but at least have them on a proper track
Not one that just pays Bernie the most money

Well said Bernie! I don''t always agree with his comments but this one is fantastic.

Di Montezemolo was just trying to divert attention away from his joke of a team by attacking the racing.

Very clever Bernie, so when Ferrari protest Massa's penalty, they can claim it was not his fault. :)

Singapore night race was a Cr1p event due to the Cr1pn circuit.

The Ferrari Clowns were made for the Circus but the only thing Bernie seems to have missed is that as the traditional money grabbing Circus Owner/Ringmaster he should have been parading in top hat and tails to complete the pathetic non spectacle!

The poor old boy is losing the plot whilst his mate Max the Perv is only suited to his dirty old man Benny Hill antics

As long as the dwarf and the perv are part of the Formula 1 Circus, no additional clowns are needed.

Singapore is a Mickey Mouse circuit, denials from the dwarf and Sir Frank notwithstanding. It is a MM circuit because of the need for a race-altering safety car for even minor shunts. A safety car should only be deployed for circumstances in which the racecourse is blocked by wreckage. Any circuit used for F1 racing should be able to proceed with a local yellow for all other situations.

If the alleged F1 leadership likes safety car prone race tracks like Singapore, I suggest that series name be changed to NASCAR. F1 will be about as exciting as your average NASCAR oval track event.

F1init,

Unlike Spanker, Benny Hill was a serious professional.

I do enjoy Bernie. For a man embroiled in politics, he gets away with saying the most politically incorrect things. He's also very smart. Luca has a genuine point about the SC rule. It is a stupid rule, and does turn F1 races into a lottery. Luca's mistake in saying anything is that Ferrari messed up big time at Singapore, which allowed Bernie to retaliate whilst completely avoiding the valid point about the SC rule.

The Yank,

I would love it if F1 was as exciting on the track as NASCAR. When was the last time a pole sitter went on to win the race unhindered?

Oh, how I dream of the days when F1 is exciting again.

Nice comment Bernie. Could this be a shift for Bernie from Pro-Ferrari to Pro-McLaren?
