It was obviously going to go: there's been overtaking there in past years... :)

This really is a shame. What happened, did Bernie want to run the race at 3 in the morning?

Stephen I have to disagree about Hockenheim. As much as I hate changes to classic venues I think the track now has better racing than before. It is too bad that they did not leave the old track in place though.

Well, it doesn''t surprise me. After attending every F1 race weekend in Montreal since 1993 I still believe that it is one of the best circuits for the fan but pretty crappy for the teams and drivers. The pits are a joke and this year the track surface once again was breaking up at crucial areas like the hairpin (My seats location). The Montreal track is a throwback to the good old days when everything was simpler and let this be a warning to the remaining european races as non of them are a match for the new breed of ''money no object'' super circuits like Singapore and I am sure Abu Dhabi next year.

This couldn't have anything to do with disintegrating track issue could it?

Not sure how slicks would deal with it nowadays.

In general agreement about yet another tradition being binned so Bernies new Arab money-pals can get a big-scalectrix for the day.

shame. this is a good street circuit with good overtaking. then again, with the safety problems during the last 2 years, i can hradly blame bernie for doing this. remember kubica's accident, and the severe deterioration of the hairpin. it's not safe anymore. There are other tracks in canada though so i hope bernie considers using another track in the near future, rather than phase north america out completely.

Finally Some relief. My Request to Bernie and Max(in dungeon) has been accepted. Now I won't rear end my competitors.

This just solidifies the sport into a bigger joke than its already become. F1 has been in decline and disrepair for years. Whiny cry baby pilots, battling team owners, thievery between teams, nazi sex parties, all to try and create SOME form of drama. Because other than that, there isnt a reason to watch the sport going backwards. Luckily I just bought a few seasons of Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes on DVD to get me by :-o

I can't find the IRL scheules but I guess they'll be visiting Montreal, so all's well from my point of view - committed drivers in powerful cars, so what if I'm rooting for Dan Wheldon instead of Lewis Hamilton, one set of comedy teeth is much like another if you just manage to get the 'magic' of F1 out of your head. MOST race series are more exciting than F1, inc IRL. I hope F1 prices, bores and 'easts' itsself out of business to be honest.

Although there are some hardcore F1 fans like myself in North America, we don't really need F1 & the FIA here. Hopefully in a few years time, we don't find Bernie & Max trying to crawl back to North America through the back door.

They should ban F1 altogether in favour of something that actually has racing in it. It gets worse every year. I don't think I'll bother watching it next year. I'll do some gardening instead...ahh, there we go, replace it with lawn mower racing - sorted...
