Come on! Canada's off the calendar? Why is boring Valencia still on the calendar, or Singapore for that matter. Both tracks are not very interesting AT ALL! And Abu Dhabi? What the hell! I hate them Arabs who thinks they can buy their way into everything! Let's pray that the oil prices will hit rock bottom so they can see their precious money-grabbing capability go down the tubes!

No US GP or Canadian Gp??? I guess the F1 elite understand how to improve the sport?

We used to have Watkins Glen here in New York state, and now the sad demise of the lovely Montreal Grand Prix.

I was looking forward to taking my daughter to Montreal next Spring to see the sites and the race, but I guess that loyalty is not a word the FIA knows.

according to f1-live.com the Montreal gp was guaranteed, "In 2006, Legault stated that an agreement maintaining the Canadian round of the championship until 2011 had been reached with Bernie Ecclestone". this sounds like bernie is trying to get his new found eastern tracks into the mix for next year.

I really hope Montreal has something in writing concerning the gp until 2011

The canadian GP l think is one of best F1 event this season or maybe all season cos'' overtakings, dramas, big accidents, all happen here.
Bernie should kick Bored GP at schedule, like this year such as Valencia (fail to be another Monaco GP), Magny Course (always boring) or new hockenheim and budapest may be..

This is a shame for the sport. The driver''s laud the place. The fans have always supported the race. Perhaps this is another political ploy by Bernie to squeeze more money out of Montreal, or maybe he wants to force them to do upgrades no western country can afford. I am a proud Canadian, but I haven''t been proud of the surface at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the last couple of years. This year was an embarrassment. Maybe this will force the organizers of the race to get it together as now their spot on the F1 calendar is in jeopardy. One thing is for certain, the manufacturers and American sponsors are not going to be pleased when F1 does not even touch North American soil.

Did Max & the FIA consult the teams & their sponsors before they came out with this new schedule for 2009? No. Max, the FIA & Bernie don't give a dime about what the teams, the sponsors & most of all - what the fans think. They are only in for the money. They are not even in for the sport. F1 is just a platform for them to milk the cash cow.

This is going to far now, tradition replaced by desert races in nowhere...There are fans following every race and there are many only by traditional races. One of rare prime time events is out.Bernies argument could be financial crisis in North America, despite this Indy and Montreal have to be in calendar. :? :? :?

To snub the North American market is nothing more than a show of how arrogant the poisoned dwarf has become..Its at times like this that the car manufacturers should stand up and be counted as they are kissing goodbye to a huge piece of marketing in that region...Ok move from Montreal if NEEDS must (not that I agree in any part with dropping the GP), but to drop North America off the calendar all together is shocking. There has been no warnings or rumours - well that I know of - like some GPs in Europe have recieved...Bernie doing what Bernie does best - SELF PRESERVATION!!!!

What a joke. I can't believe this. Montreal was one of my favourite cicruits to drive in video games and one of my favorite to watch on tv. It was special race I had to stay up til 3am for. I always looked forward to it. Another pathetic money hungry decision by the foolish suits at the top. Bring back champcar! F1 is getting worse and worse.
