Use to be regulars at USGP when it was at WG but have not attended since it left although we have followed on TV. We are not fans of any particular team or driver these days, just enjoy the racing. We were planning to attend next years Canadian GP but the recent rulings by the FIA made us decide not to, even before the race was dropped. This weekend's rulings make it increasing likely that we will stop viewing as well. We want to see the results of a race determined on the track, not afterwards in a room. With budgets much less than F1 has, major US sports have instituted systems that allow decisions on rules violations to be made in minutes allowing the contests to continue, F1 must also.

The Ferrari factory must be working overtime to build all the special stewards editions this year.

As a neutral who watches the races for the spectacle but has no particular alegiances to a team or driver (well not since Alan Jones retired) it seems to me that we simply need more transparency to the decisions made by the stewards, it is often said that they have access to more camera angles etc than us mere mortals, why can they not release these feeds together with a detailed justification of their decision making process.
without this the conspiracy theories will (rightly or wrongly) prevail and the sport will be tainted to the detriment of all parties concerned.
Nature abhors a vacuum and with a lack of information the void will be filled with a plethora of uninformed speculation. :r

I agree with most of the listed comments, but don't see any reference to the fact that the Torro Rosso uses a Ferarri engine !!!
It seems logical that Ferrari should be supported in the decision by a team that relies on supply of engines from them - or am I just being cynical.

F1 are in danger of alienating many of the sport's supporters.

I don't understand how the sponsers put up with it either.

Who's going to pay for the sport when decisions like this are commonplace.

Bel, I'll do a Hamitlon and say I was wrong I have just read on Autopsort the actually story, seems that the Torro Rosso appeal for a 25 second penalty was thrown out and Sutil kept his point. Although there is one I'll make no excuses here, I should remember that one should never Assume.

how many more points is massa going to be gifted in the championship im suprised he did not get the win gifted again like monza.

Totdt has been earmarked foor the fia position for a couple of years now why do you think he stepped down and domicelli took over his position he had to bhe about for a year to help make the transition easier for the team and step in if things were going wrong, i think it is the vice presidents job but im not sure, but it is a good stepping stone to take over from max when he retires.

I was in absolute shock to discover Ferrari had yet again benefitted from an absolutely ridiculous decision when Bourdais came out of the pit lane - Massa cut right across him, deserved to spin and deserved a penalty - not the other way round.........what the heck is going on here?? Is it just me - or do the stewards seem to be inventing new rules as each race progresses - each time benefitting ferrari at the expense of Lewis Hamilton''s title challenge!!!

I''ve come to the conclusion that the twisted indiviuals at Ferrari must be paying the stewards some significant cash becuase this is just crazy.......something needs to ve done to rectify this sport as it has become totally corrupt!!!!

hhmmm...

anyone know if we can get access to the stewards decisions under the Freedom of Information Act?

I love watching f1, but this latest raft of penalties has left me wondering whether I will bother next year and I've half a mind to e-mail the CEO's of all the sponsors of f1 to ask them how they can justify being associated with what appears to be a corrupt sport...

The FIA is turning into another "American Baseball World Series" in which only American teams play...
