To be the best does not only mean to be quick But also very tactical. LH is not tactical

Regarding with Spain, it is predominately in the centre of Spain which were backing Franco's Falange party when they were fighting the Civil War etc, where there are the strongest elements of racism within Spain but there are probably other elements in Spain so Kelly's last comments are a bit of a generalisation in my eyes. But on the subject of Lewis Hamilton, he takes risks, so what, that what makes him so exciting to watch he is not afraid to risks, most of the time it comes off and everywhere errupts in excitement because of it, when it doesn't he is man enough to admit it went wrong. Likes GV he gets in the car and drives it's **** off, which makes more popular than M Schumacher.

Well said.

Although I would also suggest racism being an important factor in the hatred for Lewis Hamilton. (Sadly).

I still cannot believe we saw people dressed up on TV in Monkey Costumes with 'Hamilton's family' written on themselves. (Just as we STILL get being making monkey noises at football matches all over Europe towards black people).

This is the level of hatred that non white folks have to overcome in Eastern Europe to this day, as well as countries with a fascist past - like Spain and Italy.

It is of no surprise, that the head of the FIA's father (Oswald Mosley) - created and lead the British Union of fascists also. :(

I think a lot of us want LH to win the championship because we don't want a Ferrari driver to win it ?!! Gilles Villeneuve had exactly the same "go for the win" attitude every time he got behind the steering wheel and he's still revered for it even now 27years? later, so if LH were never to win the title at least he'll have given us plenty of RACING......... Ahhhh!! I've just realised the difference..
Gilles Villeneuve drove for FERRARI and LH drives a McLaren

One thing people go on about (though not on this thread, so far) is that if Hamilton doesn't win this year, he never will. I'm old enough for this to be said every season for about 4 years about another McLaren and also Renault driver in the 80's.

His Name?

Alain Prost.

And look how complete a driver HE turned out to be.......

Maxz, you were totally spot on until your last sentence.
I think Lewis is a match for Schumacher and given the equipment and skillfull backing of very smart people, he could out-do Schu in the history department. Records would be broken I'm sure. If only he would calm down a little and not have to have the last word on te track all the time!!!

Simple..

Lewis Hamilton - ****nal FC
Felipe Massa - Bolton Wanderers

I value passion and excitement over pragmatism and caution (in this case anyway) :)

I love the way all the Ferrari/Schumacher fans are moaning about LH's driving style and complaining that he is too aggressive.
Cast your mind back to MS v Hill in Adelaide = Schumacher rammed his title rival off the track!
MS v Villenuve in Jerez = he tried the same but came off worse :p
LH did'nt even touch any other car and got a penalty for it, ask yourself how many drivers have out braked themselves in turn 1 in any F1 race and got a penalty!
I like LH alot and when he's matured (its only his 2nd season FFS) he will be a great driver.
I actually think Kubica has been the best driver all year but I want LH to beat Massa & rub Ferrari & the F.I.A's or F.I.A.t's noses in it.

"the other drivers would be complaining about the behaviour of someone else"

sorry, what i mean is that they'd still find faults with whomever was leading the championship.

"can somebody at Crash explain to me how Lewis could have won the title at Fuji?"

exactly, LH had no chance of securing it even if he'd won and the other challengers hadn't scored. that's Crash! reporting for you

it's been said before, if LH wasn't heading the championship the other drivers would be complaining about the behaviour of someone else. tired old news
