LH needs a better team mate and someone more experienced who he can learn from. HK needs to go because he cannot back up LH. LH has been leading the WC through his own efforts without help from his team mate. KR and FM both take points off LH but apart from the win this season HK does not take points off them. One of the reason for LH being so good in his 1st season was because of his rivalry with Alonso. Because his team mate was so good and LH did not want to be 2nd in the team it caused him to raise his game. Sometimes when you have someone pushing you, you do better than you would if no one was pushing. LH was focused on beating Alonso and that made him raise his game at every race...

... LH also saw Alonso doing some things with the car that he then tried or saw Alonso take a corner at a certain speed and then try to better it. I always do my best when i am competing with someone, but when I am on my own it is not as good. LH needs a team mate that will push him to his real potential. I think Ron Dennis should give LH more mental preparation for when things go wrong and perhaps LH needs to do what he did so much last year. Study previous races. It is alot of pressure to be F1 at his age, then to be the most media popular driver, then to be leading a team and trying to re-write history. It is easier said than done.

Too risky? So youre telling me no one has ever won a world title taking risks? Do me a favour, Schumacher was famous for it, Senna had his fair share, anybody racing in the 70's (in their death traps) did it week after week. Lewis does it and win or lose he's entertaining. Bit like Kevin Schwantz- win it or bin it. It sure makes F1 a bit more interesting!

Wow!! the posters are having again fun.... Lewis is not a racer, in my books he is hardly qualified as a driver. He is a good gokarter, he drives like one having forgotten that at four it is fun to bump the other gokarts but at 23 it is another thing bumping other F1 cars. He got his medicine back last Sunday when Massa got him. What was he thinking everybody on the track will allow him his shenanigans to go on. There are twenty driver on the track somehow he thinks there is only one. He is very wrong. For his sake he behaves the last two races and perhaps he gets the prize....

"can somebody at Crash explain to me how Lewis could have won the title at Fuji?"

exactly, LH had no chance of securing it even if he'd won and the other challengers hadn't scored. that's Crash! reporting for you

it's been said before, if LH wasn't heading the championship the other drivers would be complaining about the behaviour of someone else. tired old news

sorry, what i mean is that they'd still find faults with whomever was leading the championship.

I love the way all the Ferrari/Schumacher fans are moaning about LH's driving style and complaining that he is too aggressive.
Cast your mind back to MS v Hill in Adelaide = Schumacher rammed his title rival off the track!
MS v Villenuve in Jerez = he tried the same but came off worse :p
LH did'nt even touch any other car and got a penalty for it, ask yourself how many drivers have out braked themselves in turn 1 in any F1 race and got a penalty!
I like LH alot and when he's matured (its only his 2nd season FFS) he will be a great driver.
I actually think Kubica has been the best driver all year but I want LH to beat Massa & rub Ferrari & the F.I.A's or F.I.A.t's noses in it.

Simple..

Lewis Hamilton - ****nal FC
Felipe Massa - Bolton Wanderers

I value passion and excitement over pragmatism and caution (in this case anyway) :)

Maxz, you were totally spot on until your last sentence.
I think Lewis is a match for Schumacher and given the equipment and skillfull backing of very smart people, he could out-do Schu in the history department. Records would be broken I'm sure. If only he would calm down a little and not have to have the last word on te track all the time!!!

One thing people go on about (though not on this thread, so far) is that if Hamilton doesn't win this year, he never will. I'm old enough for this to be said every season for about 4 years about another McLaren and also Renault driver in the 80's.

His Name?

Alain Prost.

And look how complete a driver HE turned out to be.......
