I like Bourdais, unlike the other premiership football players in F1 (who call themselves 'drivers')- Bourdais is outspoken and tells us all how it is.

He even directly blamed the FIA for cheating the other day. Who else would do that?

Nice one son - you stand up for yourself!

F1 » Bourdais urges STR to make decision – or he will

Under-pressure Scuderia Toro Rosso F1 rookie Sébastien Bourdais has turned the pressure on his employers following the Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji - by insisting he cannot wait forever for a decision on 2009.

STR would be stupid to let him go. If they have any sense they will keep the team exactly how it is for 2009.

Though it would be sad for Bourdais to have had only one season in F1, I believe he is to good a man to belong to the F1 circus, where the stewards try to decide who will be champion while the boss is being whipped in London basements...

I hope he will either go back to drive in the US and win the unified monoseater's series, or get a factory seat in the LMS/ALMS series.

Bourdais more than deserve another shot at it IMO.
I'm happy to see that he won't get on his knee just in order to stay in F1. Perhaps did he realised this year that it was not all that great and that he would perhaps fare better back in america.
Still wish to see him back next year, if he is happy to...

Pfft...... the well of prospective F1 drivers isn't anywhere near as deep as you seem to think it is.

Bourdais may or may not be in F1 next year, but at least he's letting his bosses know he's willing to call the shots. And I respect him for acknowledging he isn't defined by F1, and that F1 isn't the be all and end all.
