WOW for once I agree with Alonso!
So much for the PINNACLE of AUTO RACING.
1 Engine rule is absurd.
No reason for any of the manufacturers to be in F1 if that happens, cept for 1.
Bernie and Max and their asinine ways are going to drive F1 into the ground.
Get those idiots OUT!

F1 » Single engine rules would 'no longer be F1'

Teams and drivers alike have responded with shock and anger to FIA President Max Mosley's suggestion of using a standardised engine in the top flight, McLaren boss Ron Dennis calling the move 'incomprehensible' and Renault star Fernando Alonso insisting it 'would no longer be Formula 1'...

Can't be called Formula 1 if they change the engines to a standard power plant. We might see a break away yet.

You dumb idiots, why you making the pinnacle of sports into a huge mess :? IndyCar has already suffered with single rubbish rules, we don't need the same for F1 or MotoGP. Say NO to single rules be it tyre or engine. What would happen to other companies and their product engineering and development. Very lame and annoying plans :?

FIA down down!
FIM down down!!

I share the sentiments of everybody on this thread... F1 needs to remain the pinnacle of motorsport by being the showcase for the ultimate in current motoring technology. This can only happen by allowing the teams to explore their own creative avenues in power-plant, chassis and aerodynamics...

But cheap engines need to be secured for smaller teams. I'd love to see the return of names like Lotus, Jordan and Cosworth. I can see the rationale behind the move but it is against the spirit of the sport. I don't want to see 20 Ferrari's at every race (as they'd undoubtedly win the contract) I like to see a variety of cars on display. Besides the stewards wouldn't know who to fix the race for :-P

A completely STUPID idea--like most of the stuff coming from the FIA these days.

Isn't it obvious?

For years they've been trying to cut costs in F1, but the big teams just kept on ignoring the pleas and spending more and more.

So come up with an idea that's so absurd that the teams will turn round and say 'OK instead of your ridiculous idea, we'll cut our spending costs and keep out own engines'

Reverse psychology, works every time!
