I for one like Martin Brundle''s "tell it like it is" approach and hope he moves over to the BBC

F1 » FIA trying to prevent Brundle BBC move?

Rumours have begun sweeping the F1 paddock that the sport's governing body, the FIA, is making efforts to dissuade the BBC from employing popular ITV-F1 commentator Martin Brundle in 2009.

This is bloody nonsense, the FIA cannot stop interferring with everything to do with F1 and now it's the turn of the commentators. MB and his commentary is one of the best things about boring / processional F1 races, to get rid of him (assuming the BBC are going to take him on) would be madness, bearing in mind his undoubted popularity with F1 fans.

Martin Brundle is a great commentator and wouldnt have been there as long as he has been if he wasnt. If FIA prevent him from moving to BBC then we'll end up with some retard who really doesnt know what they're on about replacing him.

Have the FIA found their self destruct button recently and started pressing it repeatedly.

Week after week we get reports and suggestions of their poor judgment and manipulation of areas in and around Formula One. Are they deliberately trying to alienate fans? It is starting to feel like it to me!

I have little or no trust or respect left for the organisation.

It's a bit rich of the FIA saying he's not up to standard. I can't think of a single race this year where the FIA or it's cronies have performed 'to standard'. It is way over due for the teams to form a replacement for the FIA with it's corrupt take on life.

We may not always agree with Martin Brundle but he does understand F1 and is the only bright spark in a generally lacklustre ITV team. He would be an undoubted asset to the BBC if only to provide continuity and if BBC cave in to FIA pressure I despair for the future of F1 coverage.
What this is really all about is the ego of that sad little man, Max Moseley and it is certain that he has no intention of relinquishing his position of power in the FIA at the end of 2009 despite what he claims.

the fia is becoming a pretty scary organization, the people in it from top to bottom are power crazed loony's...i for one and i believe millions of others enjoy martin brundle's coverage of f1 and i hope he will go to the beeb next season...there seems to be something odd happening in the fia when they dictate who should have what job at the bbc....SCARY...
