I for one like Martin Brundle''s "tell it like it is" approach and hope he moves over to the BBC

F1 » FIA trying to prevent Brundle BBC move?

Rumours have begun sweeping the F1 paddock that the sport's governing body, the FIA, is making efforts to dissuade the BBC from employing popular ITV-F1 commentator Martin Brundle in 2009.

I think that a team of Brundle and Jordan would be absolutely superb!

Brundle is bloody good and the best aspect of ITV''s less than stellar coverage for eyars.

To team him up with Eddie Jordan who knows the backrooms as well as the pitlane would be a real treat for fans.

Maybe as well as race stewards, the FIA will employ 'commentator stewards' to monitor what is said during the race.

FIA Statement: 'Comments made by Martin Brundle will be investigated after the race.'

So Brundle isn't up to stsndard then? Perhaps when the totally corrupt FIA employ a chairman who is up to standard, then they may have the right to criticise.

Get your own house in order FIA, because we all think you are a useless bunch of timewasters with all the credibility of Osama Bin Laden.

Shouldn't the FIA be more concerned that their race stewards aren't "up to standards"?

This is a very worrying development, are the FIA trying to suppress the press in this country. We the people pay for the BBC and if they give in to antics which smell like a mini *****aker sorry dictator(Max) then at least something can be done about it. the bbc has to give the impression it is transparent, something FIA strictly forbid..
The FIA is out of control.. why can't the senior representatives in motorsport outside the fia see it??? The manufacturers need to do something now...

So they want someone who is as boring as hell, has never raced in the sport, and knows nothing about it do they? It seems as though the FIA are trying to bring an end to F1 permanantly, or it could be that they are predjudiced against the UK. Does anyone know of a country that has been told the same thing as the BBC?

What a disgracefull and shamefull move by the FIA. Perhaps one of the tabloids would like to run a campaign to "save Brundle". That would shame the FIA and perhaps the BBC if they don't employ him.

Please please please....NO James Allen, he's simply too irritating!!! Brundle tells it as it is....and i for one appreciate his views.

This is it for me. This kind of behaivour just shows how pathetic the FIA are behing the scenes. It's like some sad little boy's club! You have to agree with them to be allowed in & if you don't they will put their real jobs on hold & attempt to ruin your career! This story only shows how much must be going on behind closed doors that we don't hear about. (ie Ferrari Fixing etc etc)

Seriously boycott F1!!! Who's with me!?!...
