I for one like Martin Brundle''s "tell it like it is" approach and hope he moves over to the BBC

F1 » FIA trying to prevent Brundle BBC move?

Rumours have begun sweeping the F1 paddock that the sport's governing body, the FIA, is making efforts to dissuade the BBC from employing popular ITV-F1 commentator Martin Brundle in 2009.

Why even watch this garbage, F1 went to the dogs in the early nineties with the loss of Senna and the retirements of (Prost, Mansell, etc). hopefully we can get some new direction. At least we still have MotoGp until it goes to the dogs too :(

Big Question. This is to crash.net.
Can you plse send the comments from this page to Bernie Eccleston. I dont know how to convey otherwise.
The answers from most people adding comments speaks to the genuine affection and appreciation of Martin Brundles objective, knowledgeable, and to the point commentaries. If Martin B is not with the BBC next year it will be an absolute travesty of good judgement by the BBC. Joe Kennedy Ireland

message to the BBC: Ignore the power-crazed, manipulative bigots that are the FIA. Proof of how deserved Brundle is should be clearly evident from a couple of races ago when he took the helm in Steve Ryder's absence. Watching him and Blundell together was one of the best, most informative and professional presentations ITV-F1 has ever given to it's viewers. At least he's no James "failed Murray Walker wannabe" Allen :)

Martin Brundle is knowlegeable, wry and perceptive. BBC''s coverage needs him for both continuity and insights.

"Brundle not up to standard" for the BBC, I suggest they listen to BBC's motogp coverage to realise MB is at the top of his game.

Is it that martin Brundle may have stumbled on to something about the FIA and thats why they dont wont him next year
As allways the FIA seem to jump in on anything they can why dont they do a bit more on the race''s instead like ferrari who do team orders and get away with anything

The FIA are a complete Joke. During a time when their own Head has done his best to bring the whole sport into disrepute they attempt to block the move of a man that keeps the focus back on the racing and the joy of the sport itself.

Martin Brundle is a great guy and his insight only adds an extra element of interest into this once Great sport. If the FIA want to remove him for speaking his mind on a Sport he is passiontate for himself only to be replaced by a political mouthpiece for the FIA then I fear for the future of F1. SHAME ON THEM!!

Brundle adds a level of expertise and knowledge that gives us great perspective, in boring races we still have something to follow, in great races he keeps us up to speed, he delivers it in an excellent way - with humour and honesty!

I would ask the BBC to keep Martin in the commentary box, but would very much welcome an addition like Eddie Jordan.

If they are worried about TV performance, I suggest they focus on the TV footage that is so random from one event to the next - it could be so much better! Don't focus on Nakajima when someone is gunning for pole... give us more information on screen....etc

If the BBC intends to uphold the journalistic ethics which ITV throw to the dogs for commercial reasoning there is no way it can get M.B
