Agreed, and Indy is not the place. The best would be Infineon Raceway, Road America, Sebring, or Watkins Glen. Those four venues are far better than Indy IMHO.

There are lots of good circuits in the US. But in all probability, they aren't willing to pay what BE wants.

Back to north america is in the best interest of the sport...going to Indy isnt..seeing B.E's love of street circuits around marina type venues then the best option would be something in Miami or similar...but i'd love to see them go to the likes of a street circuit in Vegas.

I agree with Nick Fry. A race at, say, Road Atlanta or Long Beach will do more good for F1 than Monaco. However, we Americans are not easily cowed by Bernie extortionist attempts in milking American motor sports fans.
