Sorry to break the news to you Bernie but when people want a person to win, that means they want someone else to lose. Perhaps Bernie missed that day in school. :?

I suppose then that Bernie should just have Hamilton drive around the circuit by himself in a car built by all the manufacturers!

People were not against Lewis, just the fact that the itv coverage in 2007/2008 was of Lewis Hamilton and not "Formula 1"

Bernie shouldn't be talking about 'giving back to F1' because all he did in the last decade(s) is take away from F1, moving it away from the historic real racing tracks to emotionless concrete facilities just for short term profits, possibly hurting F1 in the long run. Yes, he was leading F1 when it got bigger in the 80s/90s (right time right place) and he deserves some credit for it, but let's be honest, he's also by far the one who benefited the most from that. Not in terms of millions (like Alonso and Raikkonen) but in terms of billions. Now he just wants to use Hamilton to rake in even more cash. Seriously, even after you make that kind of loot you still can't do the right thing?

I'm the one agreeing with JJ.Over and above that BE has raked in billions on the love/hate relationship Schumacher had with the public, as LH now has. The fact of the matter is I would pay to go and watch anyone beat LH, the same as some people would have done that for anyone to beat MS. I don't know much, but it seems coming through the ranks with a silver spoon in your mouth obviously does have advantages. I say put Vettel in equal machinery with equal backing and then we'll see who can drive.

So Bernie has a problem with fans wanting LH to lose,he also doesn't like fans saying LH is an arrogant *******.Lets look at the facts of why we have seen such dislike and racism for the first time in F1.LH did not even have a drive at the beginning of the 07 season, then once McL gave him a drive he disrespected the natural team leader the 2 times world champion, who frankly deservedly thought he might be team leader over a rookie.LH at the instruction of his father defied team orders and blocked FA in practice, then FA repaid the compliment in Hungary and got a penalty. FA would have won a 3rd title without doubt but finished level on points with LH. LH cost McL $100M,the title and the fans.

Realfan, you arent a real fan because you can't take off the blinkers. Everybody says that Alonso wasnt helped by the team in the last 4 races. So lets go to the 9th race of the 2007 season:

Alonso was 12 points behind Lewis before the Nurburgring Race.

He was having his ass kicked, how is that disrespecting? Fernando threw his toys out of the pram at the end of the season. Im not saying it was all one way, but it was more Fernando's fault than Lewis' fault.

Chris, I hate to say this but I think you could be a bit biased. Last season LH made so many stupid mistakes when the pressure was applied. I am not a FA fan at all, but coming into the team he should have got the respect he deserved. As he so rightly has told LH he has been 2 times world champion with MS on the track. That is one claim LH will never be able to make. And seriously, if LH is so great than why hasn't someone taught him a red light means stop. Ferrari lost Massa the championship. The better driver did not win. And no I'm not a Massa fan either.

Do some of you even watch the races? Have you even watched F1 for more than the last few years? Can't you objectively see that LH has had the greatest rookie season with your own eyes? Read the NUMBERS! As far as respecting Alonso because he has won the WDC twice, wake up. You sound just like the people in my field who say that I should respect a worn out has-been because they have been around longer than I have. I'm in a competitive results based organization that ranks people based on the revenue that they bring to the company. Therefore I kick butt. F1 is a results based sport that ranks drivers based on the results they generate on the track. He kicks butt. "The respect he deserved".
