suprising really, i thought gascoyne had done good progress with what is pretty much a old car.

but this has happened to him alot in his time with jordan, renault and toyota so perhaps there is a problem with his character that the public dont see.

F1 » Gascoyne, Kolles go in Force India shake-up

A 'radical' reshuffle of the management structure at Force India F1 has seen managing director Vijay Mallya assume extra responsibility for 2009 as new team principal - and Mike Gascoyne and Colin Kolles seemingly axed.

Well... he's certainly a good guy and a masterful technician, but still not one of the easiest persons to be around. He demands a lot and sometimes misses out a bit on the necessary diplomacy in talking to people. If you're good and know how to take him, he's as I said a great bloke, but you have to be robust... both when working for him as well as when hiring him. And we all know what happens when strong egos collide!

I must admit that I'm happy to see the back of that strange little ex-dentist Mr. Kolles... but that's my opinion.

Regards!

I'm still not convinced that Gascoyne that that great. He seems to have been at a lot of teams but they are rarely point scorers.

FIf1 have been working with what was regarded to be the best engine package in the paddock. STR have managed to score huge point in the latter part of the season compared to RBR and the fingers have been pointed at the engine. You would have to think that Mr Mallya would expect at least a point towards the end of the season, the price of poor performance is something has to change.

he was good for Jordan, got the push at Benetton, fell out at Toyota when Flavio said the car became 2 seconds faster, which is not strictly true,in any case he can,t take the blame all his self, Sutil, is still learning & Fisichella brings nothing to the table, the team was on the brink of reciever ship, and true to the letter mr Mally is moving forward

Kolles will be no sad loss for many in Motor Sport, many will be rubbing the hands he is rumoured to have left empty with glee :)
The odds should be better on FIF1 not making the 2009 F1 grid rather than them making it
No doubt this move is a money saving attempt!

i feel fisi is good for them, im not sure what sutil is doing there. when bourdias might lose his seat, its not right that sutil is still there IMO. one good race dont make a career, esp 1 in 36. Tho he is learning in a tough car, but not learning fast enough.

i hope they havent made the wrong call with mike tho.

Well this is certainly surprising. I thought Gascoyne was one of the "sacred cows" of F1, along with Adrian Newey, Ross Brawn etc.
