F1 » Button hopes to 'challenge for wins' in '09

People can say what they like about me, insists 'forgotten' Honda F1 star Jenson Button - but when I finally have a competitve car at my disposal in 2009, I'll show everyone what I can really do.

He is just such a smooth driver he will be WDC next year with the new aero rules. I predict 11 race wins, including Monaco, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Silverstone, Spa, Australia, Singapore and Valencia. Those circuits will suit Jenson's style.

He'll finally show Briatore what an idiot he was to dump him for Alonso in 2003.

he's basing this on R.B saying its going to happen....hhhhhmmm hasnt everybody at Honda been saying the same thing at the end of each season and just before the next for quite some time now??? Jenson - pull the finger out and learn how to develop the car with the engineers and results should follow....but then again we've been saying that to you for a while now....I'd love to see honda mixing it up with the teams at the front but something says the committee way of running a team aint and wont work....RB needs to stamp his authority on anything and everything, from the Aero design to what toilet paper is used....Then and only then is there a chance of Honda doing the business

Well, less aero grip, no more countless winglets. Who knows, may be Honda will find their form of 2005-2006 with a simpler design.

BTW, I don't really understand why they changed the concept after those years: Ferrari, Mc Laren and Williams used to pull the string of a successful car design. I guess they realised they would not win the championship and tried to do some revolution instead of a steady development.

Has not paid off so far...

Also, I like how the Brits throw the one they once adored to the garbage...

Wasn't this guy raking in a string of podiums in 04? He got his first win I think in 06 so in 09, he's at least due for another win-maybe. Jenson has wasted too much time at Honda. When his stock was high in 04 I can recall him trying to get out of his contract for 05 but Honda wasn't having it. It's a shame how the teams hold back a drivers career. I dont't JB is completely washed up but his moment in the sun has passed. He's due for a wins and podiums but he will never be world champion.
