Can't rule it out. He was responsible for some of the best overtaking manouvers of 08 including a couple of sublime two-car passes. If the aero changes and slicks improve overtaking opportunities, Quick Nick might be int he catbird seat for 09.

However he pans out in relation to RK, I think BMW are a major threat for the Constructors at least in 2009.

F1 » Heidfeld: I can beat Kubica, fight for crown

BMW-Sauber F1 veteran Nick Heidfeld - who generally suffered by comparison with in-form team-mate Robert Kubica in the top flight in 2008 - insists he can bounce back in 2009 by seeing off the Pole's challenge and fighting for the crown.

Heidfeld must be insane to claim he is faster than Kubica.

this claim is not as way-out as those being made by button and piquet. heidfeld was known as "fast nick". given the change of rules for next year, i feel that nick will be in a better position to capitalise than the cube, however anything is possible, and we will only see the true performances next year, so lets wait, and who knows, maybe button WILL get a win!!!!!

"always a bridesmaid never a bride" personally I think he's good enough to bring a car home in the points ,but he just hasn't got that little bit extra needed to reach the top step often enough

Bob is a short version of Robert.....anyways....Quick Nick had better get inventive if he wants to out do Kubika...try changing strategy once in a while....Nick = predictable

Oh sure. What is Quick Nick waiting for? If not for the fact that BMW are trying to win their home German market vs. Mercedes, and want a German in the car, Nick Heidfeld would be pedaling DTM lorries where he belongs.

Are you all blind or crazy? The difference between these two guys is all in the qualifying pace. If Nick gets that sorted for next season he's in with a good shot. His race pace has been even with the Kube's all season - and remember last season when Nick consistently beat Kubica. He's a brilliant driver, quick AND clever. He's done the most successful overtaking moves of all drivers this season, and how often do you see him ending up in the gravel because of overambitious moves? He's also known to be very good at managing his tires, thus often being able to compensate for quali problems by driving a heavy car and pulling it off, sometimes even on option tires.
