F1 » Raikkonen admits he lost 'interest' in F1

Kimi Raikkonen endured a torrid 2008 season in F1 as defending world champion, and now the Ferrari star has confirmed what many observers had suspected season-long - that he simply lost 'interest'.

thats hardly news i think everybody could already see he lost interest and that for me is the biggest disappointment of the whole season a great driver never gives up so i guess kimi just isn''t a great driver. and if he doesn''t buck his ideas up next year nobody will want him

i''m glad he''s admitted his lack of interest,it was painfully obvious from the the start of the season that there was something wrong...he''s in a sport where motivation is everything and to lose interest is just beyond a joke...get your act together kimi or go and do something that will hold your interest and give up your drive to someone who will at least try...

u can only blame ferrari if this is true for re singing him. if he really doesnt have the motivation then he is just bleeding it for the extra money. and why wouldnt he?

but i hope that isnt true, and i really hope kimi returns to full form next term. cos the real kimi can win another title.

Kimi is capable of winning another title. Even with this alleged loss of interest he came within a whisk.

Kimi only gave up at the end - when it was no longer a possibility to win the WDC - he gave his all at Spa I think you would have to agree! Hopefully the car will be in tune with his driving style next year. Kimi is the fastest & deserves a car to give him the 2009 championship.

KR certainly's one of the very best F1 drivers it's not, is he capable but does he want another WDC.
Many thought Kimi wouldn't be the driver he was once he'd won a WDC and I don't think he is. I think he races mainly to achieve personal goals and doesn't see the point in replicating an achievement. After climbing Everest how many would feel the need or want to do it again?

Ferrari missed the perfect opportunity in 2008 to get Alonso and compounded the error by extending Kimi's contract. You wonder if that's a legacy of Todt's because Alonso previously rejected his offer. Saying that I'd like to see him win another WDC.

Wow!! what a big statement from Kimi. The Ferrari faithfull will not be happy about that at all - not when he's the highest paid driver in F1 - 16 million a year I think, and the team leader .......

I think that if kimi is loosing interest in F1 then he should be replaced with the one that is going to set Ferrari into a blaze. Fernado Alonso.
