The future of F1 in France now appears more doubtful than ever after Euro Disney announced it has withdrawn its bid to host the French Grand Prix.

Yup, you're right insomniac ! Unfortunately, the ACO and the FIA have been at odds for years. Too bad, because Le Mans is the ideal interim solution for one year or two before the French GP gets a new home. One hour from Paris by TGV, facilities, roads, housing, etc...

The problem is that the business model of organizing a GP somewhat implies that you lose money and expect to be refunded by public authorities thanks to the sheer benefits in prestige and economy of hosting a GP.

For good or bad, France has become quite hostile to the car culture which is rather schizophrenic and sometimes even hypocrite. Another long debate, but it has implications in the media interest towards motorsports.
