Please please please don''t say that! I want Kimi to win so much. Yeah, he''s got that ''I don''t care about anything other than the driving'' attitude but I believe he can make a great champion. Just give him the best car and people who understand him enough to work with. And you''ve got a world champion.

Maybe it''s not that easy. But Kimi will bounce back, until the day he retires.

F1 » Murray: Kimi may regain fire but not crown

Kimi Raikkonen could well return to form in Formula 1 in 2009, contends much-loved commentator Murray Walker - but that still may not be enough to see the Ferrari star repeat his world championship success of last year...

Icegirl, thats a bit of a daft thing to say regarding giving Kimi the "best car". This season he had the best car and drove with no passion at all.Im so surprised Ferrari have kept him on,with his lack of respect for the tradition of Ferrari.Personally,i dont like Ferrari, but everyother F1 racer would do anything to get into the red machine and drive it 100%,but Raikkonen, no he couldnt be bothered.

I think Kimi can be WDC again but its down to Kimi. The F2008 Ferrari was the fastest car by a distance - all the stats prove it but for some reason Kimi could not get on with it. But no doubt about Kimi's speed and Ferrari always build a car capable of winning races so its up to Kimi

Witht the new KERS, slick and aero rules next year + Bernie's medal plans, I even see Fisichella win the championship..... So it is all open.

kimi lost interest in f1 in 2008...his words...in my opinion he let down the fans who pay a lot of money to go and support ferrari by not really trying...what an attitude..he seemed to only try on the tracks he liked, and could'nt be bothered on the ones he did'nt like...he gets payed millions to race the ferrari and should at least earn it by trying everywhere for the team and for the fans...or bugger off and go and find something that will hold his interest.what an odd bloke.

kimi ha raw speed, and the revised cars to be used next year may suit his driving style better. if so, there is no reason why he could not be champion again

What you all forgetting is that very rich ex world champ Kimi has been racing hard for a long time and there a fresh young motivated drivers very determined to win in cars that are very competative with new rules. I think Murray is correct.

There was all talk of him having lost interest, and was struggling in early 2007. But a few great races at the end saw his grab the title. The 2008 season started with a mechanical failure and then more in the season (plus a few crashes) probably knocked his confidence. He and Kovalinen better be right at the top in 2009.

fastjack. I beleive Kimi first, was responding to comments that he had lost interest, and two, he said if he loses interest he will move on to other aspects of life. I don't recall him saying I've lost interest in F1 and if that were the case Ferrari would be announcing Alonso in that seat very shortly. Kimi has always been calm cool and collected. His indifference to the spectacle that many seem to think is so important gives some the impression that it's not important. I think he's the most down-to-earth guy in F1 and there is no question of the skills. Ferrari certainly isn't questioning it and they know him better than anyone including Murray.
