F1 » Red Bull: Webber should make home race

Mark Webber to miss winter testing but should be fit for the 2009 F1 season opener.

Simon,

Not sure about the stats, but personally don't agree with you on that one. Either way, can't help thinking this is the wrong thread for a dig at Mark Webber....

So Matt, you disagree with me, so you think he is a great, successful driver with 2 podiums in 121 races???? Well if you call that success ,i would hate to work with a loser like you!!!!

simon...Think you need to get your facts right before you post comments. Webber finished 5th in his first race...his first podium was with williams in monaco in 2005... Check your facts when you are trying to discredit someone, because when you get it wrong you look like an idiot.

Back to the story...Hope Webber can recover quickly and get back in the car as soon as possible.

Yeah Simon,
probably a bit silly to start that on this thread....
Not because he was injured during his annual charity event, or the fact that most people see him as a decent bloke, but largely because when you wave facts, you better hope they're right
5th in his first race
And i personally believe that winning is limited to maybe 4 drivers each year, so success can be measured in the length of a drivers career, over 100 starts, he's obviously not useless...

We and Michael.... Webber in a Minardi at Australian Gp??? didnt he get a podium?
Also if you read my comment you would see that i really like Webber and admire his charity work and hope he recovers very soon, but as a driver he isnt very good.Michael, you say only 4 people can win races??? well this year 6 people won races(Kimi,Massa,Hamilton,Kovi,Alonso and Vettle).Remember Siverstone this year where Webber was on the front row then lost it going onto the hanger straight(scary onboard pictures) and last year at the wet chinese gp where he was 3rd and behind the safety car he rammed was it Vettle?? so he has had chances but always messed up.

Simon

once again mate, check your facts. He didnt get a podium in Aust in the minardi, it was 5th and it was Vettel that ran into the back of Webber behind the safety car. You are starting to look like a real tool.

get well webbo

Simon, unless I'm mistaken Webber has beat his team mate more years than not in F1 and he's had some years of unbelievable bad luck. Mechanical failures can't be deemed his fault.

If he had a good car he would have many more podiums. When he joined Williams it was the start of their downward spiral (look at where they are now).

Even if you had harmless intentions by your first post Simon, ththe best way to stir up real debae fact you posted it with this story isn't probably te.
Thanks for your well thought out reply though. yeah i will admit more than 4 winners this year, but to win consistently, its 'usually' the top 2 teams.

But the claim that he is the most unsuccessful driver of all time is a little rich...
Nick Heidfeld has made more starts with zero wins. Martin Brundle made more starts for less points and zero wins

Most unsuccessful driver in f1 ever: Andrea de Cesaris
