Mark Webber to miss winter testing but should be fit for the 2009 F1 season opener.

wow sorry for those typos....... my mind must have been elsewhere.

Even if you had harmless intentions by your first post Simon, it probably wasnt the best way to stir up real debate by posting it with this story

Simon, I notice you referred to "Matt" as a loser. After reading your innacurate & poorly timed comments, my first thought is that it is you who is the loser. For a start, considering the money poured into this sport, the fact that he has endured speaks volumes for the regard in which it seems he is held by the Formula One community. I would rather be a Formula One driver who is winless in 100 plus starts than wind up an uneducated idiot who takes cheap shots without checking his facts first in a Formula One chat room. How many races have you won?

simon...wow dude you just keep digging a deeper hole. Now you think it was Webber who crashed into Vettel at the, what did you say, the Chinese gp :) dude you crack me up. It was Vettel who ran into Webber at the japanese gp. It was also the race that Webber raced with food poisoning and was vomitting in his helmet and was comfortably in 2nd place before Vettel stuffed up.

Dude just alittle advice, for the second time, check your facts. And posting negative comments about someone that just had his leg broken in a charity event which he set up is, well, wrong.

we. i will stand up for seb v. if you have full recollection, you would remenber that the crash was caused by lulu steeering away from the pace car, and webber suddenly backing off with vettel just behind and unaware of lulus antics. webber did NOT blame vettel and the pacecar rules had to be altered to prevent someone else acting as lulu had done

rich ard> Fair enough. And i know it wasn't completely Seb's fault, it was a combination of things as you pointed out. I was simply trying to correct someones "facts" and didn't feel that this was the right place to start the blame game for that incident. Because its been done.

@ rich ard - This is just a friendly observation and is not meant to as a dig. Your Vettel fanboyism is bordering on that of the Hamilton fanboys. Only time will tell with both of these drivers.

As a mountain biker and a fellow Mark I wish Webber a speedy recovery.

mark, sorry if my comments come over as fanboyism. perish the thought if i ever suffered from that! sometimes one can spot talent. i notice this in schumacher with merc, massa with alfa, kovi in ROC etc and i therefore take an interest in the progress of these. further, if someone makes a post , in effect blaming wrongly, a person for an incident, i will stand up for the slighted person. even hamilton. this is similar to your comment on another thread, re blocking. you stand up for ferrari and rightly so. i can of course be wrong about vettel, but only time will tell. he wont win a WDC with RBR, but given a mclaren or ferrari, he would have a very good chance (as would some others!)
