Sad to see Berger not involved anymore. He was running STR really wisely last season, and is always a smart and friendly face to see at a GP weekend.

I also have very little faith left that STR wil do the right thing when it comes to Bourdais now Berger isn''t involved. Damnit.

yes, opsin, i feel that it was gerhards input that made str improve so much. he is a happy and capable driver who enjoys practical jokes. pity he did not go into another series when he retire from F1.

Yeah, I'm afraid Gerhard was Bourdais' last chance to stay in F1. Too bad...

this is a guy with REAL passion for F1 and motorsport. Would like to see Gerhard as Mosleys replacement ( we can all dream that someone who knows the sport could be in charge !!!! ).

I'd be totally in support of that tazz. Alas, if he isn't rich enough to stay with STR, there ain't no way he's rich enough to be in either Max or Bernie's shoes. As I say though, alas.

The last line in your story was real shock.

"Don''t worry," the infectious 49-year old smiled, "It is quite possible that I will be back some day."

How long has Gerhard had this disease, what is this terrible malady and how easily can it be spread? A hand shake, a cough or something more intimate?

The cure of course is to simply re-arrange the words so that they reflect a different scenario, I''m sure Gerhard will be very happy to learn that a cure is available and we can all breath a sigh of relief.

tazz, excellent idea. now that gerhard has no links with str, the post of president of FIA would suit him, and he would suit it. good call!
