Buemi sounds like an arrogant little prick. He hasn't done a single race and he's already saying who he has the measure of and who he wants his teammate to be so it will challenge him. What?! How does he know he can measure up to either Sato, Button, or Sebass who all have considerable F1 experience compared to him? Testing in preseason and the actual races are totally different. He should keep his mouth shut until he actually does something in an F1 race and season.

F1 » Toro Rosso want Bourdais, Buemi favours Button

The identity of Scuderia Toro Rosso's F1 driver line-up in 2009 remains a mystery with Sébastien Buemi, Sébastien Bourdais, Takuma Sato and Jenson Button all staking their claim to a seat at Red Bull's 'junior' squad.

The choice is between Bourdais - multiple single seat champion & Button - F3 champion (i think!) what seem like 15 years ago?
This one is a bit of a no-brainer IMO!!

Yeah a no brainer that Button should be ahead of Bourdais which ever way you look at it, even Sato had the measure of Boudais in these tests in a car Bourdais drove all year only for Buemi to beat him in the last test and Sato also shading him.

Now we know Button is in a different league to Sato so if it was a straight choice between Bourdais and Button then I think Button should take the seat.

The favoured line-up should be Button and Buemi but if money is what Torro Rosso is after then Sato and Bourdais should get the seats and I think either way Torro Rosso looks healthy for next year.

Buemi is just saying that so he has a team mate he can beat up on. Button should retire from the sport. He is the one who opted for money over a different ride in past years. He needs to be put out to pasture.

reply to tealeaf and his comment they were all on different set up's when testing and buemi had the fastest set up as they were all looking at different packages to go with the slick tyres hence why he was fastest and was a lot faster than all the others. not jus bourdais and sato.. anyway he's bought his seat and i hope bourdais can find the money to even though he should he should just be goiven the seat for being a good driver.......... all he had was a tricky start but you cant be the best from the word go you have to work at it and i think bourdias will be alot better if given the chance...!!!!!!

Buemi wants Button as his team mate? Who he think he is to do that? Senna? Piquet? Prost?

Please, nowadays is not the era when driver can pick his team mates or veto the manager's preferences. Driver's power should not be prevalent within the team.

He may be the new big mouth in F1. In a article on another site he said he had the measure of Sato and Bourdais and was looking forward to going head to head with the german(vettel) as he was only .02 off sebs pace and with more miles under his belt felt more secure to challenge him. All this said and he is not signed by STR.

As Raw Dawg said, Buemi should keep his mouth shut.

Personally, I would really like to see Bourdais next year, but please this guy needs more support from his team. Ok he did some weird races when was introduced the str3, but from Valence to Interlagos he did remarkables things !

what the hell has buemi ever done that gives him the right to suggest who is his team mate and am i right he isnt even confirmed yet, talk about being ahead of yourself .
I for one would rather see Bourdais and Sato driving for them not some little up-start who thinks he is the man, what a *****
