F1 » Vettel: Thanks for voting me F1 number one!

Vettel did an incredible job this year,punched well above his weight.Seemed to extract the absolute maximum out of his machinery.Getting a pole position and a victory in a Toro Rosso,how could anyone not be impressed ?.Great driver and future world champion for sure.Seems like a nice bloke too !.

Win a title 1st, then you could be considered #1!

Sebastian drove for our team in 2006 and 2007 before he shot to everyone's attention first in the BMW and then in the Toro Rosso. Even before he got his big break, he was one of the nicest drivers I have met (and I've met and worked with a lot of drivers in nearly 20 years of racing!) He has a great sense of humour, he watches old british comedy on youtube while he's chilling out between sessions. He is very intelligent and will contribute to dinner conversations about the most diverse of subjects. He still stays in touch with many of the guys he worked with at our place, a very wise head on very young shoulders, a massively quick driver in essentially equal machinery. Not a protest vote!

Im not sure what to think of this voting. Although his race win, from getting pole, to winning the race is a great achievment and shows the potential, when you win from that effort it is to behold. Buttons'' only win came when all the cars ahead of him didnt make it to the finish, so it was a lucky and gifted win, not an earned win. But one win doesnt show the true ability but in Vettels case, it shows the potential, even in treachorous conditions such as he did it in. Given all that, Im happy for him. He was the nice surprise of the year.

He well deserved it in my opinion.
I have followed his career for some years nos and I still believe that given equal conditions he would blow everyone else on the F1 grid away...
