Potentially Kers should aid deceleration and braking and provides a 'power boost' during periods of acceleration.

It looks good for McLaren at the moment but there is a weight penalty to be paid so we'll have to wait and see how much of a performance advantage McLaren can squeeze out of the system.

I wonder if Ferrari are throwing up a smoke screen and are not so far behind with their Kers development as they would like us to think? I only raise the possibility because it's not like Ferrari to 'drop the ball' like they appear to be doing in this case.

Lex Steele, Ferrari are waiting for a bit more time to pass before they perform with their KERS package. Of course, this is due to the McLaren team's proclivity for larceny.

Come on Guppy be fair, the technical information stolen from Ferrari had nothing to do with the Kers system. From what I remember reading at the time it was to do with some Aero advances that Ferrari had made.

It's called sand-bagging. Not letting on how good or bad you are.

It's a cover. If you're doing well, then great you can keep it a secret for the time being and when it comes to light, well, ummm, we didn't think we were this good. If you're doing badly, hey, what did we tell everyone. No lose situation.

So, I guess, not having read anything from the FIA, KERS is still a go and not part of the cost saving cuts.
