so he puts his life on the line every time he goes on track. Hardly. Today, F1 cars are bullet proof. It's not anywhere near as dangerous as it was, not even close.

They are the highest paid drivers in probably the safest racing cars in the world...

Overpaid? Yeah.

massa receives "less than three times kimis $30m...."? this must make massa earning around $80m!!!!! surely the highest paid sports star ever. presumably crash.net meant less than 1/3 rd of kimis salary..... ie less that $10m. still too high for ANY driver, although flip made a good job of earning it.

I read a while back that Jenson Button was in the top 3 of the highest paid drivers currently, that paid off this season didnt it!:? Maybe thats another reason Honda went bust? :?
It'd be extremely interesting to know the salaries of all the current drivers in comparison to each other. :) I bet we'd all disagree the salaries each receives:-o, especially if Button is right up there, with Massa near the bottom. :-o

i would not accept to take a pay cut.
for the bosses, the worst thing that can happen is to see their team fade away.
for a pilot, death can be smiling on the next turn.
no way. it's ******* dangerous.

Save money in F1 by cutting driver salaries?

1.How much was M.Schumacher paid to wear a red shirt in the pits this season?
2.How much was Bernie Ecclestone paid to walk down the grid looking lost?
3.How much was Max Mosely paid doing whatever the hell he was doing?

Time to play devil's advocate...

From the point of view of the current economic climate and to help their teams, they should take a pay cut. From the point of view that it's a dangerous job and they could die at any time, they shouldn't.

LOL
