Oh why god, he gets paid millons to do his job, so he did his job well this year in the best car, why get a mbe, do i get a mbe for doing my job well, i think not.

that will over inflate his already massive ego his head is big enough already they will never get a helmet to fit him now!!!

When you hear that a young upstart is given an m.b.e when there are many people more deserving of this honour,it really makes you think what is happening to this country.

@ Salamander. Spot on. LH won WDC fair and square and he's the youngest ever WDC. If the coutry wants to honour him then fair enough. If he wins 2 more WDC in future years he should get a knighthood - just like Sir Jackie. What's wrong with that? Nothing unless your jealous

Yeh, he deserves everything good that he gets, hes our British F1 World Champion and won it through hardwork and determination. I agree with FreddyFreeloader, in a couple of world championships he should be in line for a knighthood.
What's everyones problem, hes a young talented driver who's made it straight into a top F1 team and has won the championship! I admire him for all he has done!!!
(I know just about everyone on this site will disagree with me tho!)

I left Britain 20 years ago and left behind a country of morons and major a r s e h o l e s. What does a MBE mean when you give it to a baffoon like golden b o l l o c k s.In Europe they look upon you idiots in the UK as a bunch of blinkered vision t w a t s. I for one agree all along.All MBE's, Knighthood,and the other meanenless titles along with the owners should be shot in public,I include all those dumb a r s e goons at the Palace in the list.Long live mainland Europe.

think you might find its pr advisors etc who compile the honours list not the [country]as in a democratic vote and certainly not by true F1 fans

tho i dont feel he should get it, just cos i dont feel it should be given to sports man really. but i congratulate him of his achievement, so he deserves it as much as the other sportsman

tho i do disagree with people saying he should get a knighthood like jackie if he wins 2 more. because jackies was down to his never ending effort in safety, resulting in f1 being safe today. lewis isnt even botherd with GPDA(neither is kimi for that matter) and dont give much thought to the safety or spend the time to know the rules(canada and spa)

that takes nothing away from his title or MBE but Knighthood, no. unless things change, which they may his career has a long time to go.

an mbe does not mean much, but i would prefer to see honours going to people who devote their lives to the good of the underpriveleged etc, rather than a person just doing his job and getting paid very well for it.
