Why exactly should he need a new manager? Because your usual prejudices against all things Hamilton continue!!The guy is extremely well connected and thought of by the Mercedes hierarchy and I would rather trust their judgement than the views of a known hater for anything to do with the Hamiltons. The guy has won the Euro F3 series, was narrowly beaten for the DTM title against a far more superior Audi and is on the verge of getting an F1 seat.Someone somewhere in his management is doing something right for their guy!And to be pedantic Richard I did not exactly rush into commenting,my words came over two hours after the earlier pearls of wisdom from you and Sunny!

F1 » di Resta poised for deal

Paul di Resta remains confident of an involvement in F1 in 2009, despite being 'overlooked' by Force India.

sunny, it is no wonder that so many conflicting reports are issued about di resta. look who his manager is!!! he could have made a better choice of manager. but at least he can be safe in the knowledge that he would never be a mclaren driver, as long as lulu is there! i dont know much about di resta, but his efforts in dtm shows that he maybe should stick there.

I really think Di Resta deserves a drive but honestly i don't know if f1 teams even care about the DTM series,i mean look at Paffett, won it in 2005 and got nothing but a testing role out of it. Paul has such a good future in front of him and after all, he did Vettel 18 times in f3 euroseries 2006.

I've said it before, di Resta deserves so much better than a Force India. It's a shame he is so desperate to get into F1, because another year in the DTM, or hell, even GP2 could potentially open so many more doors for him. He also really needs to get a new manager.

What a high quality debate this has begun as.Two people who appear to know nothing about the driver in question but still prepared to make comments. It is sometimes better to say nothing than risk ridicule? As Stephen and Sarah who would appear to be a little more clued up both suggest,di Resta would make a welcome addition to the GP field in '09.Here's hoping!

tim burr, as always you rush into digs against those you dont agree with. as you will see, i admitted that i did not know much about di resta, but my comments were then about the choice of manager, which sarah and sunny also agree with. i watched him in dtm last year, and whereas he had a couple of poor quality races, he performed quite well, leading me to say that maybe he should stick there (and improve his standing and experience). i had hoped that you had turned over a new leaf for the new year, but it seems that you are still the old tim burr.

I think I'm more a fan of WRC&DTM than F1, hence why i don't particuarly want di Resta to dive into F1, because having followed his career since his F3 days, i do think he is potentially the biggest British talent in a very long time. I'd say he performed more than "quite well"... when he achieved some amazing results in an old spec Merc in 07, and proved he was worth the 08 car this year, by frankly embarrassing the other Merc drivers with his Championship efforts. This is why it worries me that if he jumps straight into an F1 car, especially the Force India, it won't do his career any good if he isn't at the front beating Lewis, who i guess will be the benchmark for rookies from now on.

As an after thought Richard,do you not know how to use the Capital letter key?Odd that you never use them and Sunny your close friend often uses them in the wrong places!!!

tim burr, if you read old posts, you will find that many, many posters have criticised management decisions made by lulus father. decisions such as, puppet on a string, challenge hoy, challenge button, etc. in fact, many point the finger at him as one of the reasons that lulu is not universally adored. i do not know how long hamilton snr has been di restas manager, but i reckon he only took on the job recently. once again, i made no criticism of di resta, so dont need a history lesson.
sarahs comments are right, a year back on gp 2 could work wonders.

p.s. capital is spelt with a small c !

Look at Caps Lock on you keyboard! What is Puppet on a string? Challenge Hoy? Challenge Button? If you know nothing about di Restas career or how long he has had Hamilton as a manager why do you need to comment on it?Why are you so convinced that Anthony Hamilton is doing such a bad job? Because a handful of equally biased posters on this forum say so? And you take that as evidence? Be serious Richard soon you will be citing Mr Stivala as evidence of all that is certain and true!!!
