I think that it is pretty out of order to keep their drivers waiting so long for a decision. The rejected driver then has no time to organise his drive for the year.

SB deserves another year to prove himself after learning the tracks and the car in 2008.

It now appears all-but certain that front-running GP2 Series graduate Sébastian Buemi will join Scuderia Toro Rosso to make his F1 debut in 2009.

sunny, i raised the same question on another thread but didnt get a response. i seem to remember that the drivers had to be nominated before the end of the year, maybe even as early as end of november. the second driver presumably will be A.N. Other!

Agreed!:D Personally Id love to see Bourdais get 1 of the drives: I believe he has great potential and deserves another chance to get some decent points! :D And for the sake of it, I want Buemi to get the other seat, simply to keep it the 'Seb' team, lol!:p
The other part of this interview said that STR have not yet set a deadline for when they're going to decide on the line-up, as Calvin has already said its really not fair on the potential drivers who now have NO chance of getting an F1 seat anywhere else.:-o And, as I've already said, it'll get to Australia and the team bosses will make the final decision just before Friday practice!

If the Ferrari/Honda deal is true then maybe Bourdais would end up there. Ferrari may have driver influence for the team and call the driver shots. Just grasping at straws as to why they have not announced the STR full line up. Does this idea hold any water Sunny? Once again I am just speculating and may be way off.
