I totally agree with DC .He has hit the nail right on the head, Jenson Button is still one of the very best out there and is still young enough to make a big impression in the right car

F1 » DC: Button a quality driver and great talent

Jenson Button has received a vote of confidence from friend and former rival David Coulthard, who described the currently out-of-work Honda star as a driver capable of winning 'a lot of grands prix'.

I agree, it's such a shame that he managed to put so many people off side at the start of his career...

I can't help but think that if he had kept his head down on got on with the driving back then like he does now he would have been in a top team and have been competing for the title for several years by now

I really think JB can do the biz given the right equipment, I'm just not sure he'll get given the opportunity. He's in need of some good luck. I for one really hope he gets his chance.

Go Jens!! :) :)

Yes DC is quite right - he is a fine talent - a smooth and deceptively fast driver. However, his behaviour in renaging on an agreement with Williams showed another side. I wonder if he now regrets not having kept to that agreement. Who knows how Williams would have performed had he been back there? Karma has a habit of coming back to bite you.
But I do hope he manages to get a drive. His talent merits it.

Button ditched Williams for the big money at Honda. He got his big money. Like they say, it's a business and Jenson's has taken a serious downturn. Oh well!

JB is undoubtably a great driver, all driver's in F1 are, but he missed his title window and TBF against the likes of Hamilton, Alonso, and Kimi with the rides/teams and titles they have he's out of the running. He may be good for a second win but not without Honda dollars backing him up.

One word : Overated! In F1 you're truly evaluated with how you perform against your teammate.
Against an ageing (in my opinion not a very good racer) in Barichello he has seemed to be mediocre. In fact it is Barichello with the best race result. You can only hold bad luck accountable for so long.
If he was such a good driver he should have whipped the ageing Barichello into the ground.
Bear in mind that Button has been in the team a lot longer than Barichello and the adjustment that needed to be done by Barichello to get up to speed..
Button on Hamilton's level? Next question please...

It's F1...there's really only 4 good seats...if you arent in a Ferrari or McLaren, you arent winning GP's...only a guy like Alonso can steal a win here or there with some luck and his immense skill. Does anyone really think Massa or Hamilton would win races or podium regularly in a Renault? If so, you're nuts. And they could raise Senna from the dead and he wouldn't have done much better than Button & Barrichello did in the dog of a Honda the past couple of years.

As I said Chris G... you have to match up to your teammate. Button should have blown the ageing Barrichello away... he didn't ... and rightfully so his stock should gone down
