timo was going to be the butt of sarcasm , no matter what the result. if he had kept the car on the road, ahead of vettel, lulu would have lost the wdc by one point. then, imagine the comments that would have been made, such as , helping ferrari, fix etc. he just couldnt win, could he?

F1 » Glock: Interlagos cynicism hard to understand

Toyota star Timo Glock has spoken about the tough weeks following last year's F1 title-deciding Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos - a race in which he was harshly accused of having helped Lewis Hamilton to the crown.

Why wont he admit, at last? I cannot post an URL here, but feel free to e-mail me at cossacco@o2.pl for it. Im talking about a Live Timing screenshot, that I made just after the race. You have here a crystal clear comparision of Glock and Trulli. The same cars, same tyres, same everything. Glock claimed that conditions didnt allow him to drive normally, which is not true. Please have a look: S1 - Glock quicker than Trulli by 1.3 second, S2 - Glock quicker than Trulli by 1 second, S3 - Glock SLOWER than trully by 2.2 seconds! Those 2.2 seconds (at least, beause that would equal Trulli, and Glock was faster for whole lap) would place him pretty far on the fastest Start-Finish straight...

And if he would be 2.2 seconds in front there (at least that), no overtake from Hamilton would be possible, at all. Numbers dont lie. Sorry for splitting, but I ran out of space in earlier comment. Greetings to all.

The Fact of the matter is Lewis had a Car that set fast LAP At 1 point in the Race! He could have gone for a Podium. I understand that He might not want, to Play with Alonso, But Vettel Blew His Fracken doors off!!!!!! In an STR!!!Hamy do'es not deserve the 08 championship, Neither did Massa. Ferrari dropped the ball, BIG TIME SO DID McLaren 08 Championship. NO Contest No Winner No Loser. I do not think Either deservese WDCF, IMO

Even if Glock let Hamilton through, it is his right to do so. If his reason for letting him through was that he wanted his friend Lewis Hamilton to win the championship, so be it. I am one of Hamilton's (actually McLaren's) harshest critics. But, it is Glock's prerogitave to do as he likes.

I will gladly provide that Live Timing screenshot to anyone, really. Simple logic makes it obvious what happend, basing on it. On the other side, I think that Ham deserved to win the title as much as Massa did, BUT then again on the flipside - Massa should come victorious out of Interlagos, because McLaren did strategy mistake. Im just being objective, not emotional on this one.

OH PLEASE.

Why does people STILL keep saying that Glock's gamble didn't pay off? He was behind both Hamilton & Vettel - AND Heikki - before the pit stops, so if he really wanted Lewis to win he could have just gone into the pits like the rest and changed tires and he would've been nowhere near the title fight.

Instead, Toyota took a chance and it turns out they made a good decision (just like Glock himself points out in this article - did you even bother to READ it?) which enabled him to finish ahead of Heikki and score another point. WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS?

In the last race (last lap)in the rain you are trying to tell me that Glock was radioed and told to let Lewis go by. Bull. Ferrari didn't even know the running order and they are the smartest team on the planet. Give Timo a break. He as the above poster mentioned oould have went into the pits for wets. If the rain would have let up, Timo would have held position. You can keep the timing sheets as I watched the race myself and do not have to be spoon fed your view.
