at last the cracks are beginning to show, but what worries me is the comment that there is a FIVE YEAR PLAN to bring up the track to F1 standards. does mean that there is now an admission that the work will take a long time and that there will be no chance of the five years work neccessary, being completed by SEPTEMBER of this year (the dwarfs deadline!)

Sorry for being a pessimist but does anyone really expect Donnington to pull it out of the bag?

It will be such a shame to see the F1 calendar without a UK race.

steel wheels. i have never believed that it would happen. but the dwarf says that if donington cannot stage the GP, there are 5 or 6 other places where the "british" GP could be held. bet none of these are in europe!

I agree Rich ard...

The conspirator in me could say that Bernie has been clamming to get rid of the British GP for years. How many times did he try to get it away from Silverstone.

'The Dwarf' as you call him lol has seen how full the wallets are in the far east and Arab Nations.

Hi rich ard
Bernie hasn't actually said that there will still be a british GP if Donnington don't pull it off, he has said in the past that he will not hesitate in giving another country a GP in place of the british GP and when that day comes, which sounds like it may not be to far away, it will be avery sad day for motorsport in general. :)

I've commented previously about the naivety from DVLL about the planning process, and now we start to see lcoal opposition which will almost certainly transform into a Judicial Review if SLDC planning committee give it the green light.

Then we have the money - or rather, we don't. Having seen the conniptions senior managers have had in many companies about simple Christmas staff parties, there isn't a hope in hell there will be a queue to buy a dozen tickets at £5k a pop (it's not a corporate event if you are the only one there) for a days racing.'

I ued to be cynical it would happen, now I'm convinced it won't. Gillettes either in dreamland or letting himself be mugged by Bernie.
