F1 » Herbert: Lewis can dominate F1 like Schumi

It won't be easy for any driver to dominate F1 in the way that Michael Schumacher did in the '90s and '00s, argues the German's former team-mate Johnny Herbert – but if anyone can do it, it's Lewis Hamilton.

I'm not sure that he can. I think that the competition now is much tougher than in MS's day. LH may win more WC's, but I don't think he will dominate. But that's a good thing, because as we saw with MS, domination leads to real boring racing.

I'm agree with Calvin. Yes, LH is very good driver, but now the F1 world has change! Teams are pretty much equals in terms of speed - yes, in some race we still notice a huge gap -. And many other very good young driver there and I'm sure there will be much more to come. It will be hard for him to match Schumi record, at least McLaren continously able to provide superb car. The bound between LH and McLaren is too tight, so I think he will be stuck if McLaren could not provide him the best car because I believe no other top team will go for him if he want to change team incase McLaren failed to keep this momentum. Not Ferrari nor BMW or even pretty fast Renault want him!

Just want to say one thing, How the hell can anyone say that hamilton will dominate F1 like Shumi when he only won (1) WDC and only by a single point who won less race than the second place Massa.. I mean hasn't Hamilton have enough praise from the whole world for the part 2 months?? this is getting redicoulous and my post might probably get deleted cause it's not "pro" Hamilton.

@f1 Hamilton beat Alonso in 07 by virtue of having five 2nd place finishes to Alonsos four 2nd place finishes. Because they were tied on points and wins.

The only Hamy will dominate F1 like Schui is if the other Teams fall off the pace as happened when Ferrari dominated. I, for one, do not want to see that happen again. Remember that between Them, Prost & Senna have 7 WDC & 91 GP wins, and Their Stats are Eerily similar. :)

The only way Hamilton could dominate like Schumi did is he goes to an underperforming team such as Williams and makes that team unbeatable.
How many titles would Schumi have if he went to the best performing team as he pleased? probably more than 7...
It took Schumi and Ross Brawn 5 years to make that Ferarri a championship winning car...

Hamilton has a looooong way to go.
