course he was!! :-) what ahead of Senna, Rubens, Sato, Di Grasi et al.
how convenient to say that now - still it reminds us that he is still about I suppose.
Unfortunately there must be something that Team Managers see - or don't see that stop him getting a drive every year.

I can tell you what they see rusty, his ambition far exceeds his talent...what they don't see is AD staying on the track and out of trouble....frankly I can't be ars8d to look through the archives but I'll bet his non-finishes have been more about accidents than breakdowns.

In his dreams. I don't dislike the guy, but he's now calling for the return of Friday drivers. Given the widespread call to cut costs and limit testing, this will never get off the ground. The teams regular drivers will need all the time they can get in the cars. I think his management needs to review what their guy says, coz it wasn't the most opportune thing to say. Smacks of desperation.

I am agreeing with you sennaforever - think my last line may have been a bit confusing - I have never understood the clamour to have him in a F1 car - he was 2nd of F3 in the best car - the Carlin, but was MILES behind his team mate Sato that year.
Why he is clinging on for F1 I don't know when a mature attitude would have been as Wilson and Manning and to keep racing and earning, which, if he really loves it is what he would want to do rather than sit about hoping for a F1 drive.
