I totally agree with Ron! It''s just not going to work. They might get the circuit ready but the infrastructure that goes with it just won''t be there, not like at Silverstone, it''s just the Dwarfs way of getting rid of the British Grand Prix and making money out of it. I don:t doubt Simon Gilletts enthusaism, but sadly I think his dreams will be crushed.
As for public transport ...... erm, dream on

Barry while RD is allowed his opinion don't you think that by publicly voicing his concerns it may hinder Gillet's ability to raise funding thus he is helping Bernie remove the British GP from the calendar? Perhaps being on the inside of the sport he should speak with Gillet directly if he is truly interested in preserving the British GP. There is a very good chance that this project will fail.

Possibly RD wants a break away series and he knows that the more "classic" countries that lose their GP the more demand there will be for a new series. If there is no France, Germany, or Britain that leaves a huge demand.

i dont see the problem with any of rons comments he is allowed his opinion just as much as anyone else and i tend to agree with him on the access issues I for one would not entertain going to a GP on public transport.

Ron is right to question certain aspects of the move to Donington. First the debenture question - that is a suck it and see whether there are sufficient people prepared to risk £10 or £15k and risk it will be. On a personal note - only public transport for access ? No way for me. Think about the problems - how do you carry food , drinks, clothing for the "stable" British climate , some form of portable seat etc onto a bus etc. Plus - from where do the buses start and will there be sufficient car parks at those points? Then getting away after the event ................
I shall stay at home in France and watch it on t.v. At least the French GP organisers
realised it''s all going mad and qui

I applaud Gillet for his efforts, I fear He's too dependent on other Peoples money. Busing Fans to an F1 Race! Greenest thing I've heard so far :) Let's hope he succeeds :)

I agree Mark. This Donington project is the best hope for a British GP and we should all support it. I don't know where all the money is coming from but I believe the plan is serious and has serious (money) backing.

But I do worry if there is bad weather - helicopters don't fly in bad weather - Ron Dennis will be pissed off if he has to get on a bus!

I am glad that we don't have to worry about RD's access to the circuit. I was really concerned for him possibly having to sit in traffic. He is such a knob.

Seriously, how are RD's comments supposed to help secure funding or enthusiasm for this venture? If he really wants there to be a British GP, then he should make positive comments or keep his trap shut.
