I wonder did those Schumacher drove into or off the track have similar experiences?

Mika's crash at Adelaide resulted in him getting an emergency tracheotomy while still in the car by the Prof (Syd Watkins) and (I think) Tramell which saved his life. I will never forget the picture of him before they operated - lifeless eyes - small wonder, changing the subject just a tad, that Ron Dennis had such affection for him.

@ ferret - Mika also had that huge shunt in Adalaide. I believe that they kept him in an induced coma because of the brain swelling. This is why I always gave RD a pass for favoring Mika over DC upon Mika's return.

I remember that season, not long after Michaels crash, at the German GP Mika Hakkinen had a very scary crash when his rear tyre delaminated at 180-200mph and sent Mika into a big spin, then straight across the gravel trap and into the barrier!
I expect the Mika may of had the same thoughts as michael did in that crash!?

In '91, Senna, on pole, felt, with some justification, that he was being discriminated against by Balestre in that he could not start on the racing line and was thus penalised unfairly. His comment was that he would not be lifting off should there be another car in front of him - a sure sign of intent to CAUSE an accident. And we all know the consequences the next day. A fine and widely respected journalist, Nigel Roebuck refuses to this day, to include both Senna and MS in his list of greats because of their on-track behaviour. I have to say I fully agree with him.

@Lucifer. I feel your comment about Prost is misplaced. That year (90) he (AP) stated in the run-up to the Jap GP that he would not be moving over to let Senna through in one of his intimidatory moves (he had avoided collisions earlier in the year by ceding places to Senna in just such situations). In the race, Prost kept to his line as he was entirely justified to do, and they collided - it was a racing incident, no more, no less. What followed with the push-start was entirely in Senna's hands - and his subsequent pass of Nannini (who just rolled over and got out of Senna's way) only serves to reinforce his reputation "let me pass or we have an accident". 1991 was VERY different - cont'd
