F1 » Toyota 'stronger than ever', 'ready to win'

Toyota Motorsport President John Howett is confident that the big-budget Japanese concern - which has consistently underperformed in F1 for the past seven years - is finally ready to win in 2009 and 'stronger than ever'.

good luck to Toyota, but their 2009 car isnt gonna win any prizes for its looks. the front wing looks like a smaller version of the infamous Williams walrus tusks back in 2004

The best thing about 08 was the number of different winners - the most in an age (although I can't help thinking that this was what caused Bernie to adopt his numbnuts medal idea). So in the hope that this continues or even improves, I really hope that Toyota finally get a win. More winners, more spectacle, greater possibilities in the championships, all good.

I'm also glad they are showing commitment to F1, when their car range hasn't got a sporting element to it.

Not sure about the 09 looks on any cars yet - some angles its comfortingly retro, some it looks downright awkward. Melbourne will settle it I hope.

How many races will it takes for the FIA to amend their rules on the front wings? How many will survive the first corner tussles?

Trulli stands more of a chance of winning when he can drive fast for the WHOLE race
