That's correct is it? Talks the talk does he?
Let's not forget that this is a guy who started Prodrive from a tin shed at Silversone and built it into one of the foremost engineering and motorsport operations in the world.
I'm sure that the loss of SWRT and the subsequent need to possibly loose staff hurt D.R on a personal level I fail to see how risking the whole company on something that would bring in little or no return (until the introduction of customer cars at least) would be sensible.

Isn''t it a contradiction to say " The pinnacle of motorsports" and customer cars. You can''t have both!

Financially viable and competitive.
Sounds fair enough to me.
So why did he pick up Aston Martin not so long ago, which fails in both those respects?
Talks a good talk but ....

Deatbeats agreed. He talks the talk but it looks like he's keeping his face somewhere near the spotlight.

IF he really wants to get back into F1, surely now is the time to do it.
He will never again get the chance to buy into an established team for such a low price, and as the cost cutting measures come into place, the financials will continue to improve.
Smart investors always buy at the bottom of the market not the top.

Yes smart investors by at the bottom but let's remember Honda are only asking for $1 yes one dollar, for the team, but any buyer must guarantee $800 million dollars of additional funding, hardly a good investment when F1 still cannot get it's act together and give established teams guarantees for the future , customer cars ,one engine etc I think D.R is doing the correct thing by waiting to see what happens in 2009 and maybe beyond if the financial market doesn't show an improvement. If the likes of Williams (huge financial loss) Force India (lapping at the back with a multi billionare backing them) are struggling why jump in now?

Perhaps because it will cost him twice as much in 2 years time when the world economy is on the upturn.
F1 is always going to be expensive ... you either can afford to be with the big boys or not.
