F1 » The Stig outed?

who cares who the stig is. we all know that there is more than one. further, everybody on the show knows who the person is anyway. a number of the "performance" shots of cars being tested, do not actually feature the presenters (clever editing) so a close perusal of some frames might show who is actually driving in their place.

I presumed that many in the media already knew that Collins was the Stig hence why it wasn't revealed. Most people in motorsport have known this fact for many many years now, and its surprised that the newspapers have taken this long to discover who it was.

It was confirmed with the h&S accident form who the Stig was as well.

Who cares who The Stig (most of the time ) is anyway. It's not the point of The Stig!

Well, it does seem to have been a fairly open secret amongst people who were bothered.

My main concern is that, if Clarkson is right and once the Stig is outed they have to replace him (like they did with Black Stig), where do they go next. Blue Stig? Red Stig? If so, we're only a Pink Stig away from having all the driving on Top Gear done by the Power Rangers, and that can't be good.

ive had word of him for a while, so old news surely, but why is it better that the general population know who the stig is? the appeal of the stig is his unknown identity, so once again the media get involved and mess it all up...

I swear revealing the stig comes from the same people that MUST know how every magic trick is done and revel in telling children their is no Santa Claus. Piss off Already and let the mystery live!

irn bru. they would require a new stig, who wouldnt stuff the car just after the start of a lap
andrew. i am sure that whoever the new stig was to be, they would want a fast, motivated driver.

This isnt exactly new information is it though? As part of the requirements of being licence funded the BBC has to publish full lists of all employees, position and salary. Ben Collins has since his first appearance as white Stig been the only one listed on TG as High Performance test driver and track instructor so the news has always been there if people bothered to look.
