@Banditfan. Are you kidding me? The guy was dismal. I could run around there quicker.
All humans should be put down at 70. After that they are just taking up space and breathing good air.

@sakkie - who knows what the owner of the classic Lotus would allow. Mario can still get around a race track better than most anyone else his age. If you watch Indycar you would see him driving the two seater with a lucky fan prior to most races.

God what a beautiful car.
On a modern track it looks amazing.
Lucky boy Mario.

Track looks ready to rumble, and the elevation changes show up well on the video. The first corner looks like we are in for some uphill blind corner action.
Can't wait, should be good. Anyone out there eating their words?

A magnificent Lotus 79, with it's magnificent driver. Bloody fantastic. How good does it sound when he gets on top of the cam (and the picture smooths out). And then changes gear with a gear stick. Good on you Mario.

Disgraceful comment from sakkie.
Mario Andretti IS an absolute motor racing legend and a gentleman.
As an elder statesman of the sport he was reunited with his stunningly beautiful Lotus to open the new track. His career record speaks for itself and he has nothing to prove to anyone, least of all a muppet like sakkie.
That car is worth an absolute fortune and costs a fortune both to maintain and to run, so the very last thing you do, on a green track, is over cook things and end up bending it.
It is quite shocking to see some if the totally idiotic comments some people (I won't call you a fan, because a fan would now better!) make on this forum.
