Hungarian Grand Prix: Qualifying Reactions

In one of the most unusual F1 qualifying sessions in recent memory, Fernando Alonso put Renault back on pole position for the first time in almost three years at the Hungaroring, but it was the accident that befell Ferrari's Felipe Massa that had everybody in the paddock talking.

After being struck on the helmet by an errant piece of suspension that had flown off the Brawn GP of compatriot Rubens Barrichello, the Brazilian went off the track at high speed and into the tyre barriers, subsequently being taken to hospital for checks and later surgery for skull damage.

Back on the circuit, meanwhile, Red Bull Racing duo Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber took the fight to Alonso, but both would ultimately come up short.
