British GP - Thursday press conference - Pt.1

Lewis, are you a bit surprised that you come here at the British driver with the best chance of winning and best placed in the Championship?

Lewis Hamilton:
I guess so, yeah. I was definitely not expecting that when we started the season. But it's I guess a positive.

Q:
What are your thoughts on the progress Mercedes have made this year?

Lewis Hamilton:
I think it's incredible what they've been able to do, it's very difficult. Watching my previous car evolve over time, over the last few years just to see how much improvement you can make over a winter. To see what they've done is pretty impressive. They've done an incredible job but it's because they've got a great group of guys. They've got some very intelligent people coming up with great ideas and new innovations. It's a team to be reckoned with.
