Ricardo Zonta is rated as 'almost certain' to re-sign for British American Racing in 2000.
The young Brazilian, who to missed three races after injuring his foot at Interlagos, was rumoured to have been facing the sack after several lacklustre displays since his return, but now looks likely to have earned a reprieve. Team boss Craig Pollock is reportedly keen to give Zonta another chance to realise the potential which earned him a McLaren contract before making it to F1.
According to team sources, the Brazilian is now '99 per cent certain' of partnering BAR number one Jacques Villeneuve next season.
