Richard, from a sporting viewpoint, the Michelin teams could have raced with no possibility of points. No one is saying that Michelin didn't make a huge error or arguing that they should have made concessions to Michelin, only that something could have been done to rescue the situation and give some alternative to the fans who'd travelled there at great expense, and the millions around the world sitting in front of their TV sets. And for that failure to act and the betrayal of the fans, you cannot say that was all Michelin's fault or hide behind the "rules is rules" excuse. F1 showed its true colours that day. Fans don't count. Its all about business and politics.
