Monticello Motor Club in upstate New York has engaged in discussions with F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone with regard to staging the US Grand Prix from 2012, it has emerged.

Think people, no infrastructure - no roads, lodging, public transportation, stands, suites, etc. This is just another of Bernie's stalking horses. Just as the New Jersey F-1 track was until the politicians did that in. If Watkins wasn't up to F-1 standards, for this track to be seriously considered is beyond the pale. Bernie is just putting faux competition in place to get a sweeter deal elsewhere. Straight out of the Negotiation 101 textbook. If F-1 is looking for a demanding dynamic challenging racetrack see Road Atlanta. Dr.Panoz may not be interested but somehow if the ALMS could be part of the weekend package who knows. It could happen.
