So come on, who was genuinely surprised that Ferrari escaped further punishment at the hands of the FIA WMSC over the Hockenheim team orders scandal? Not this writer, for one...

Well, we all rose smartly to that piece of Crash bait. Keeps their advertisers happy, I guess, same as the nag-badged Fiat wallahs and the Schitzelfarten Merc-enaries have to. It's all showbiz, folks, and I reckon they've got the heroes and villains, the snobs and the oiks, the old pro's and the premature-ejaculation weenies mix (not to mention the unmentionable race mix) just about right to keep us all boiling and coming back for more.

I don't know about quoting old Pete Townshend (and The Who Sold Out decades back...), but as far as I'm concerned, it's only rock 'n' roll - but I like it.

Just don't mistake it for a sport, that's all...
