You're absolutely right, Alan. People who make ignorant comments like these about the Olympics have no understanding of how significant they are, financially. It is a gigantic boon to any city that gets to host the games, they benefit directly during the event and it boosts tourism during and after the fact. Economically speaking, nothing can touch the Olympic games.
