Mark had a great year. In hindsight he threw it away in Korea but things could have been so much different if he had more support.

Mark had three poles in a row (Spain, Monaco and Turkey) and should have won three in a row if not for the bingle with Vettle. Mark also could have had pole in Canada but the team took a gamble with hard tyres and that would have been four in a row. (Yes I know he was 7th on the grid but he qualified second and then had gearbox change). Three wins on the trot and a probable podium in Canada (McLaren had the fastest car that weekend) should have made him unstoppable but you know. I do think it was unbearable for Vettle to be beaten by another driver in the same car and from the outside it does look that Mark's speed was an inconvenience to the team by the way they acted.

In the end however the fastest man won in the end and he was untouchable in the last four races.

F1 is such a mind game and when you lose your edge over your rival, its very hard to get
