"When Webber tried to pass Lulu at the same place Lulu ran wide, bumped wheels and came close to pushing Webber off the track. Alonso accepted that he was on cold tyres and did not bother defending a lost cause."

How was it a lost cause? If he had of done the same as Hamilton did to Webber (which was a FAIR defensive manouvre) he would have kept the lead. He was caught napping, take those red tinted glasses off.

Alonso is the man to watch at the moment, his current form is great - but he arguably lost this race because he gave up that "lost cause".
