Along with wimbledon (that the BBC have found an extra GBP 8 million a year for) F1 is the BBC's best performing and most cost effective sport.

Here's the BBC Trust's own findings:

F1 Cost per Viewer Hour = Hit
F1 Cost per Viewer = Hit
F1 Actual Reach 54% = Hit
F1 Actual Live Rating = Hit
